Terms of Service
These terms govern your access to and use of the ONDUTY CLEANER platform, website and mobile experience. By creating an account or booking a service you agree to them.
Last updated: 3 August 2026
1. Who we are
ONDUTY CLEANER ("ONDUTY", "we", "us") operates a technology platform that connects clients seeking cleaning services with independent cleaning professionals in Kenya. ONDUTY is not a cleaning company and does not employ the cleaners who accept jobs on the platform.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the information on your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
- You may be asked to verify your phone number and email address before certain features become available.
- We may suspend or close accounts used for fraud, abuse, harassment or repeated policy breaches.
3. Bookings
A booking is an offer to engage a cleaner at the price and time shown. It becomes binding when a cleaner accepts. Prices are estimates based on the services, number of cleaners and hours you select; if the actual scope differs materially, the job may be re-quoted with your agreement before work continues.
4. Payments and fees
- Payment is made through M-Pesa and held by ONDUTY until the job is confirmed complete.
- ONDUTY retains a platform commission from each completed booking, disclosed on your invoice.
- Applicable taxes, including VAT where enabled, are shown separately.
- Cleaner payouts are released after completion, subject to any dispute.
5. Cancellations and refunds
Cancellation rights and refund amounts are set out in the Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms and may be updated as our operating costs change.
6. Conduct
- Treat cleaners and clients with respect; harassment or discrimination results in immediate removal.
- Do not arrange payments outside the platform — doing so voids escrow protection and dispute support.
- Do not ask cleaners to perform unsafe work or tasks outside the booked service.
7. Liability
ONDUTY's role is limited to facilitating introductions, payments and support. To the maximum extent permitted by Kenyan law, our aggregate liability for any claim relating to a booking is limited to the value of that booking. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; material changes will be notified in-app. These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Kenyan courts.
