Privacy Policy
We handle personal data in line with Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you keep over it.
Last updated: 3 August 2026
Data we collect
- Account data: name, email address, phone number and city.
- Booking data: service selections, schedule, address, special instructions and job history.
- Verification data: for cleaners, government ID and a selfie, stored in a private, access-controlled store.
- Location data: a cleaner's live GPS position, shared only while a job is active and only with explicit consent.
- Payment data: M-Pesa transaction references. We never store your M-Pesa PIN.
- Technical data: device, browser and error logs used to keep the service reliable.
Why we use it
- To match you with a suitable cleaner and deliver the booking.
- To process payments, refunds and cleaner payouts.
- To verify identity and keep the marketplace safe.
- To resolve disputes fairly using evidence supplied by both parties.
- To send service notifications about your bookings.
Who can see your data
Cleaners see only what they need to complete your job: your first name, address, schedule and instructions. Other clients never see your details. Our support and trust teams access records only when investigating a support request or dispute, and that access is logged.
Location and consent
Live location sharing is opt-in for cleaners and stops automatically when a job completes or is cancelled. A cleaner can stop sharing at any time from the job screen.
Retention
Booking and financial records are retained for seven years to meet Kenyan tax and accounting requirements. Verification documents are retained while a cleaner is active and for 12 months afterwards. Marketing preferences are retained until you withdraw them.
Your rights
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information from your account settings.
- Request deletion of data we are not legally required to keep.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to production data is restricted, row-level security applies to every record, and verification documents live in private storage that is never publicly addressable.
